Introduction:

The laboratory hematology is a branch of the collection of clinical and research laboratories created by the graduates of this field in order to prevent, diagnose and treat human blood diseases by applying new principles, methods and technologies in clinical, medical and research fields with the special aim of improving and promoting health and has grown and developed rapidly in the last two decades. One of the turning points of this specialized field is the use of stem cells in bone marrow transplantation, as well as their extraction and preservation from the umbilical cord. But the leap and exponential growth of this field has been with the identification of cellular and molecular factors in the development and progression of diseases of the hematopoietic system, especially hematological malignancies, which has made clinical and laboratory diagnostics more and more relevant in the field of hematology. In the shadow of these fast and increasing developments, today, hematology can be mentioned as one of the developed trends and complements the need for medical treatment and diagnosis. It is expected that in the coming years, with the presence of graduates of this field in the country, Iran will gain an acceptable share in the production and presentation of hematology to the global medical and scientific community, especially in the region. Empowering the forces, creating wealth, increasing the share in the medical tourism process and active interaction with the prestigious scientific centers of the world are the perspectives of this knowledge. Considering the recent developments in the field of hematology and blood disease treatment centers and the presence of clinical colleagues in the field of hematology and oncology for adults and children and specialized and sub-specialized hospitals in this field, despite the expansion of the clinical scope, there is a need to train specialists with specialized tendencies. Hematology is necessary and there has always been a shortage of this field. The purpose of the master's degree in laboratory hematology and blood bank training program is to train skilled and trained human resources to be able to perform routine and specialized tests in the field of treatment in the hematology and laboratory blood bank departments of the country's health and treatment centers and reporting the results of fundamental and applied research projects in the field of research.
